CHAPTER 10

She continuously looked at him with a stunned expression on her face… body was stiffened as fear, once again escalated through her veins… her mind was filled with confusion as he continuously stared at the man in front of her…

‘What is he really up to…?’

She kept asking herself. She wanted to run… far away from him, for despite the smile on his face… the gentleness in his eyes and the softness in his voice whenever he would talk to her… he scared her. Chills would always run down her spine whenever he would call her to such endearment… fear always keep her alert whenever she could feel his presence… and it was too exhausting… every fiber in her being was becoming drained from the fear of being close to him.

“H… how…?” She stuttered… voice was too weak to hear.

He smiled once again… tilted his head as he looked at her with those innocent eyes.

“Well… your dad invited me…” He simply said as if it would lessen the shock that Dara was still feeling.

“What…? Why would he…?”

Jiyong pouted at her question, he lifted his hand and reached for her cheek as he pinched it a bit, wanted to take away the surprised expression on Dara’s face.

“If you don’t know… I designed some branches of your company’s shops…”

Dara flinched from his touch… and upon hearing his explanation… she couldn’t help but be awed again… there he was again… surprising her with yet another revelation…

Wearing that warm smile, he was once again making her feel that she was making a fool of herself. That she was too paranoid that being rationale was far for her to even think of.

She left out a breath… finally able to blink her eyes and look away… not until she felt his hand against her cheek, she snapped her gaze back to him.

“So, did you like the flowers..? You were busy spacing out last night that you weren’t able to see me… but what bothered me was the sadness in your face… Jagiya…-“

Even before he could finish with his words, she slapped his hand away…

Breathing quickly, she stared at him… brows were slowly connecting as frustration filled her again…

‘What is he doing to me…?’

She asked herself as she realized that she couldn’t run away…

Despite that her mind was screaming out loud to avoid him… to keep herself away from him… she couldn’t…

For, for the couple of days he was back in her life… slowly, he was taking a part of her just as she was taking a part of him. His eyes… those brown orbs, as if he was sucking the life out of her as he looked at her with those sad yet beautiful eyes, his voice, such tempt that kept ringing inside her head even if he was not there…that just one word from him… send chills right through her and would make her succumb to any of his whims and his touch… that just one touch could burn her entire skin… it was too painful… yet addicting that she couldn’t help but to want him more…

Seeing him… thinking about him was too inevitable that it was too painful to bear. And she knew that the fear she was feeling was also because of it. She feared that, the more she took him and the more she felt him; the more she would want him.

“I can’t take this…” She said, trying to avoid his gaze, and without waiting another second, she gave him back the bouquet of flowers and left him without another word.

She scampered to go back to her office.

Panting so hard, she slumped down to her seat… buried her face on her hand, she wanted to scream… wanted to slap herself for even expecting him to follow her just like he always did… to slam her against the wall or the door just to stop her… and kiss her… kiss her and make the troubles inside her head to fade… push her to her limit just so she could tell herself that she can’t stop any of this… that it was all of his fault…

“Oh God… I can’t take this anymore…” She mumbled to herself and jumped on her seat once she heard the door open only to see her assistant entering her office with the familiar bouquet of flowers in her hands.

She could only look at her uncertain assistant as she approached her desk and placed the bouquet on it.

“Ma’am… the guy said that you forgot about the flowers…”

Dara’s shoulder dropped in disbelief… shook her head from the absurdity of Jiyong…

“Where is he…?” She whispered back.

“He already left ma’am…”

Dara nodded back… waited for her assistant to leave and dropped her gaze on the roses… she bit her inner cheeks before she let out a deep sigh.

Just then she heard her phone rang… curiously picked it up from her desk, wondering if it was Jiyong… but upon seeing that it was Minho, she finally felt in peace and immediately took the call.

“Hon…?” She whispered…

“Dara-ah… I’m really sorry about last night… I was just too stressed out from work… I shouldn’t have acted that way towards you… I feel so bad about it honey… I’m so sorry…”

Dara’s brows rose from the sad tone of her fiancé… a frown was painted on her face for a while as she listened to his continuous apology… and slowly, after a while… a warm smile finally curved on her lips.

“Are you mad at me…? Honey I’m sorry…” Minho mumbled on the other line.

“I’m not mad… you just scared me a bit… that was the first time you were like that to me…” She pouted… and immediately, she heard him groaned.

“That’s why I felt such a jerk… I can’t sleep last night… I can’t even work today because hon, I can’t help but think of what I did last night… that wasn’t me… that was a jerk who forgot that his fiancée is more important than his job or anything in this world…”

With that, the smile on her face grew more as she giggled… she heard him apologizing again and when she told him to stop…a loud sigh of relief was hear from the other line.

“So hon… to make it up for you… I’ll treat you tonight to a dinner… just the two of us… anywhere you want…”

Dara’s eyes widen in excitement… yet as her gaze landed on the bouquet of roses that was on her desk… guilt immediately filled her.

“Hon…?” And it was Minho’s voice which brought her back from her trance…

She cleared her throat as she looked away…

“Uhmmm… let’s just go to the usual place honey…”

“Oh… okay… I’ll pick you up later… I love you…”

Upon hearing it, she felt a pang of pain hitting right through her chest… she almost choke, but was able to control herself.

“I love you too… see you…”

Minho hung up… while Dara couldn’t move her hand down as she kept the phone against her ear… she bit her lower lip… fighting not to cry as the guilt inside her heart kept digging a painful hole inside it…

‘I’m sorry…’

--

“Mr. Lee….”

The voice of his assistant caught back his attention…

He looked up… a blank expression was plastered on his face as he placed his phone back on his desk…

“Lock the door…” He ordered her, his tone was deep.

His assistant did as what he told before she slowly approached him on his desk. Once in front of him, Minho stood up and placed his hand against the woman’s body… sliding it against her body before roughly turning her around and bent her down on his desk.

The woman moaned as she felt her skirt being roughly pulled up… and as her stockings being ripped out from her. She braced herself as she held on to both sides of the table as Minho started to let out his anger in her… as well as the sexual tension inside him.

‘Fukcing princess… wait till I own this company…’

He thought as he roughly rammed inside his moaning assistant…

--

She was excitedly fixing herself in front of the mirror inside her office when her phone rung… and her excitement grew even more as she saw who the caller was… she immediately picked up her phone and took the call…

“Hon… I’m about to go there…just-…”

“Dara… hon… something came up…”

And just like that… the excitement in her died as quickly as a blink of an eye, for with just Minho’s tone, she knew that another one of his promises will be left broken. How many times did he done it to her…? Yet until now she couldn’t help but to feel hurt… how many times did he ask her out and expectedly would cancel in eventually yet she couldn’t help but to still look forward to it.

“You can’t come…?” She replied sadly…

“I’m sorry… there’s an emergency meeting that I have to attend to…”

And as if her mind was too fed up to hear his explanations, it voluntarily shielded her ears to listen to his words…

She just nodded… continuously chanted the words ‘it’s okay’. And in the end… found herself alone… with a frown on her face… she held her phone against her face… listening on to the dead line.

“It’s okay…” she heard herself mumbled again.

For a while, she stayed rooted on her spot… not wanting to go for the hope that probably, tonight, there would be a change… maybe, the meeting would suddenly got cancelled and he would call her back again, telling her that he’ll meet her…

But it never came… silence surrounded her until she heard herself let out a sigh of defeat…

She picked up her bag and left her office with a heavy and disappointed heart… how could there be a change…? He was a man of dreams… who she was to stop him…?

“That wasn’t me… that was a jerk who forgot that his fiancée is more important than his job or anything in this world”

His words chanted in her head over and over again…

And she let out a bitter smile… wanted to cry if those words were just lies.

‘Is he still the same man I knew…?’

Finally those words came out from her mind… a month before their wedding, she finally figured out those words… and she choked on her breath upon those words hit her hard like a lightning… tearing her heart apart…

And when she thought she would faint from the unbearable pain brought by her own thoughts…

There ‘he’ was… standing right in front of her car… arms folded in front of his chest... looking at her with a pale face… clearly freezing from the cold night… yet, still wearing that familiar warm smile on his lips.

He waved at her… greeted her enthusiastically as if his presence would make anyone’s rationale mind feel at ease… yet astoundingly, it did for her…

For as soon as she saw him freezing yet again… waiting for her… she couldn’t help but for excitement to fill her being once again… anticipation began to form inside the pits of her stomach as she slowly made her way towards him...

“Did you wait for me…?” She couldn’t help but ask… as if the words ‘go away’ were finally out of her vocabulary as she realized that it was Jiyong…that his existence was worse than a drug… dangerous… yet addicting… bad for someone’s mind and health yet it was keeping one’s veins alive… he was keeping her alive…

He nodded… reached for her hand and enveloped it with his as he pulled her closer to him.

“Jagiya…let’s go watch some movie…?”

And she knew by then… that having Jiyong back in her life was probably the change she wanted… how bad it may be… how painful it could get.
